What do you do if you don't (yet) have a voucher (Gutschein)? Privately financed day care centre (Kita) servicesThe care, education and upbringing of children in children's day care centres is primarily a public task - and we believe that it should stay that way. Unfortunately, however, the Hamburg city budget has insufficient funds to satisfy every need. If the Jugendamt cannot – or not yet – approve a day care voucher (Kita-Gutschein) for your needs, you can find private remedies by obtaining the services that you need directly from a Kita in the 'Vereinigung'. If you do not (yet) have a voucher (Gutschein) for your child, you can finance the entire care service privately. If you already have a “small” voucher (e.g. a 5-hour voucher to which every child between 3 and 6 is legally entitled), you can buy an additional time level – e.g. increasing the periods from 5 to 6 or from 5 to 8 hours. The costs of private financing are naturally far higher than the parents’ contributions that have to be paid in connection with a day care voucher (Kita-Gutschein). Child care is labour-intensive, and we at the 'Vereinigung' put great emphasis on trained educational specialists. We value an extensive range of rooms and outdoor areas and varied and healthy meals. All of that costs money and is reflected in the prices.
You can find out how much you will have to pay for privately financed Kita services from any Kita management team in the 'Vereinigung'. You can naturally terminate the agreement with us on the privately financed service as soon as you have received the publicly subsidised voucher for the times that you need.
